Author’s Bio
Fletcher Douglas was born in the small town of Lindsay, Ontario but grew up in the west end of Toronto. He was distracted in high school by girls, cars, motorcycles and part-time jobs so he left school long before graduating. Even as a teenager, he had the desire to meet new people and see the world, so he left home and hitchhiked through the British Isles, Europe and North Africa. After visiting almost thirty countries, on the one-dollar-a-day plan, he returned home to Canada and worked for a number of years at various jobs including a milkman, a construction worker, a truck driver and a salesman.
At some point in time, a further education beckoned, so as a Mature Student, he attended the University of Windsor and majored in Business Administration where a flair for writing became apparent in his marketing and communications courses. During three years of law school, and twenty years of private practice, he honed his writing skills. He wrote a lot of fiction in those days . . . he had to . . . for the protection of his clients.
As time went on, the law lost out to the desire to complete the book that he had started so long ago and his practice was sold to pursue other business interests and a writing career. The Author has had many fun-filled and exciting experiences and has met hundreds of interesting people in over fifty countries. A few of his memories are that he once spoke to Elvis (when he was alive), had an audience with a Pope (in Rome, Italy) and found a five hundred pound, unexploded, World War II, German bomb (in London, England). He is truly looking forward to sharing many compelling stories and many wonderful characters with people who enjoy reading.
